What We Do

Fellowship

We believe that personal development starts with good networks and relationships. We offer social activities to promote social responsibility and positive relationships. So, in other words we have fun!

We try to have a social excursion every month. They includes activities such as BBQ's, bowling, billiards, camping, whitewater rafting, sport games, skiing, skating, etc. For a list of our current activities see the events page.

Business Management Development

We realize the importance of business in our community. Making new contacts creates business, and using the Junior Chamber to make these contacts makes good business sense.

We also provide programs and projects that develop and refine management skills. We run our community projects like a small business to give our members experience. Some of these projects include: Festival of Trees, Citizen of the Year, Young Entrepreneurs Networking Dinner, Soap Box Derby, JC Park, Kid's Perch Derby. To see a list of our upcoming projects visit the events page.

Community Development

The Junior Chamber philosophy is "Think Globally, act Locally." Our heritage, characteristics and our personality are only a few elements that make Kingston a great place to live or visit. JCI Kingston gives its members a 'hands-on' experience at making positive change within their own community.

Some of our community projects in 2002-2003 included: Salvation Army Christmas Kettles, Big Brother Bowl-a-thon, Fort Henry Kids Days, Chamber Golf Tournament, Sky is the Limit Festival, Operation ID and AISECC. We also regularly have guest speakers from our community at our monthly meetings. For a list of upcoming community projects and speakers see the events page.

International Development

As a member of JCI Kingston, you are a member of the JCI Canada and Junior Chamber International. This organization offers Regional and National Conventions, Area Conferences (North, South & Central America) and World Congress which hosts over 5000 young people trying to make a difference. For a list of the upcoming International opportunities visit the events page.

Individual Development

We offer numerous certified and non-certified training programs to foster self development. These programs are designed and updated to propel participants forward in today's aggressive climates.

Some of our regular courses include: first aid, effective public speaking, stress management, leadership, time management, strategic planning, and parliamentary procedure. Our current training opportunities are listed under events.
